So to start … I’m an almost 30-something woman living in London who, like the vast majority of Londoners is an interloper. I’m from further afield than many, but as an Antipodean I’m certainly not the only one from the other side of the world calling the UK ‘home – for now’.
I’ve lived in London for 2.5yrs now. I’m here with my husband (also an Antipodean) and we can’t see ourselves going home anytime soon. There’s simply too much to see & do in the world that is made much easier by being based here.
To start off on the right foot, I have a confession to make. This isn’t my first entrance into the Blogosphere. My other blog is an ‘our’ blog, and we started it as an online travel diary when we first left home to travel through Europe on our way to setting up life in the UK. It’s still very much active (and you can find it here), but as I’m always writing it sort-of on behalf of my soon-to-be hubby as well as myself, I find myself self censoring what I write about, and what I say.
So I’ve decided to start out ‘on my own’ … so that I can post my musings without the sense of speaking for someone else, and also with a degree of comfort that a nom de plume provides.
Professionally? I work in a marketing / advertising agency, one of the many in London! This isn’t really the industry or job type I thought I’d end up working in, but it’ll do
Ambitions? Ideally to find a way to monetise one of my hobbies and favourite past-times and be able to earn an income by doing something I truly love to do. To have a family. To be happy. And to be able (at any point in life) to look back at my actions, decisions and accomplishments and not to regret anything I’ve chosen to do, or to regret any situations I’ve put myself in.
